Our aim at Owl Enlightenment is to create an inclusive, safe and welcoming space for all people to explore a connection with owls and to learn more about these amazing creatures.
We provide educational experiences and animal assisted activities in various forms, including workshops and 121 experiences. Our client base is varied and may include vulnerable children and adults.
Safeguarding is central to all that we do here at Owl Enlightment. The clients well being, mental health and physical safety are central to all that we do. We recognise that during time spent with clients, disclosures could be made and sensitive information shared, which is why a clear Safeguarding Policy is key to the safety of all involved.
Our mission
To utilise specially trained owls and nature to promote good-health, confidence, positivity, hope, healing and well being. We are compassionate and supportive to the communities and clients we serve. We are committed to serving with empathy and are responsive to needs of our community and clients.

Anyone working with Owl Enlightment clients and/or animals whether as contractor, employee or volunteer is required to read and adhere to the following Code of Ethics.

- We recognise and treat the owls we work with as sentient beings and partners worthy and deserving of our love and respect, and not as ‘property’ or ‘tools’.
- We recognise and respect that animals have thoughts and feelings , and are capable of feeling both physical and emotional pain and suffering.
- We respect, nurture and cherish the unique personalities belonging to each animal we work with.
- We are never physically, verbally or emotionally abusive towards any animal.
- We never ask an animal to do work which is physically, mentally or emotionally unhealthy for him/ her.
- We seek to understand and define a scope of practice for each of our animal partners and to keep their workload within this.
- We provide our animal partners with all veterinary and other care required for their physical, emotional and mental well being.
- We recognise and seek to provide for our animals’ emotional and relational needs including with other animals.
- We seek opportunities to act as an advocate for encouraging humanity’s respectful and ethical treatment, compassion and regard for all creatures and for the natural world and environment we live in.
