Loki is a female African Spotted Eagle Owl hatched 27/06/21.
She often prefers to run rather than fly. Did you know that African Spotted Eagle owl chicks can produce a snake like hiss complete with head shaking motion that mimics a puff adder. This bluff display is thought to deter predators and possibly humans before the owlet can fly. |
